Summer CAMP, College Access for Migrant People, is a program founded by Atlas: DIY in the summer of 2012. CAMP is an interactive, intensive, project focused on helping immigrants with the college application process. During our week long retreat from Sunday, August 4th to Sunday, August 11th, in Western Massachusetts, Campers will not only experience the recreation of swimming, boating, camping and cooking by a beautiful lake but will also focus on their college experience in the following realms:
1) Daily workshops on important topics such as SAT prep and interviewing skills
2) Draft, edit and complete a sample personal statement
3) Meet with college faculty and admissions officers
4) Take campus tours of New England colleges, large and small.
At the end of Summer CAMP all CAMPers will help other immigrant youth by creating projects to spread the knowledge of what they have learned to others either in person or on the web.
5) Learn destressing and time management techniques such as yoga, meditation and breathing skills!

Camp is run by Atlas Director, Lauren Burke, an immigration attorney and former Admissions Fellow at Connecticut College. Stay tuned for more information on our Summer CAMP Counselors and staff!
The Application period for 2013 summer CAMP is now closed! If you have any questions about next years' program, or would like to bring CAMPers by your high school to talk about their experiences this summer, please contact Prisma Herrera at Prisma.orgatlas@gmail.com

After CAMP our campers create projects sharing their journies and what they have learned and travel to local high schools to encourage the CAMPers of tomorrow!
We run our CAMP program entirely unfunded by outside donors and are able to run the ENTIRE PROGRAM on less than $3,000 a summer. Imagine what we could do with more funds!!! To support CAMP click below and designate your donation!
