He has always had a passion for communications, and recently fell in love with marketing. After coming to the United States at the age of 5 years old, Mohammad spent a number of years undocumented with his family in New York. After facing challenges as an undocumented youth, he is now more committed than ever to using his skills to help immigrants find and make use of the resources available to them.
Mohammad Chughtai is Atlas: DIY's social media consultant and manages Atlas' social media accounts, website, and digital presence.
Prisma Herrera is Atlas' Director of Communications, a junior in High School, and an avid Green Day fan.
Prisma works on fliers, checking emails on a daily basis, Kick-starter projects, as well as being a junior C.AM.P. Counselor this summer.
She has been with Atlas since May 2012 because she is passionate about everyone having equal rights. Prisma is involved in various organizations either volunteering or interning, she loves to watch Broadway shows, swim, and sleep (she doesn’t get to much of that!).
Lauren Burke is an attorney, the executive director of Atlas: DIY, and an avid youtube video maker.
She co-founded Atlas with three young people in 2012 when she realized that many youth empowerment organizations lacked a true youth voice and weren't fully inclusive of all-status youth. Now, Lauren oversees Atlas' day to day operations, runs IYPEP and Summer CAMP, directs our legal program, and is a leader of Happy Birthday renditions in the park. Lauren is an adjunct clinical professor at Brooklyn Law School, was named one of Forbes' top 30 lawyers under 30 in 2012, and has two cats named muffin and pumpkin.

Susan has been living in New York since the age of 5 and is a proud graduate of the New York City public education system, which allowed her to attend The Bronx High School of Science. She is quadrilingual - speaking English, Mandarin, Fujianese, and Spanish. Susan is also a lover of words (her favorite word in 6th grade was etymology), art museums, Jesus, and anything Argentine.
Susan Pan is a Legal Fellow at Atlas: DIY. She graduated from Fordham University School of Law in 2012 and has worked extensively in the areas of law related to human rights, domestic violence, and immigration.
Susan hopes to use her talents to better serve the immigrant community in New York City and is thrilled to work with such a dynamic and talented staff.
Jessica is a third year law student at New York University School of Law, where she is a Hays Fellow and member of the Advanced Immigrant Rights Clinic. She graduated from New York University's College of Arts and Science in 2006. Before going to law school, she served as a social studies teacher in small, traditional public schools in Brooklyn, and worked in Haiti as part of the earthquake relief effort. Jessica is a Southern California native who loves learning new languages, eating new foods, and meeting new people. She hopes to use the skills she's learned in her academic and professional career to work towards establishing equity for all people, regardless of status.
